Organizing "Facts Of
Life"
For Peace Of Mind
Sitting on the front
porch of a farmhouse in Vermont, or Oregon, or Florida can be a wonderful
way to sit back and enjoy the world you are in, or what used to be. It is
pleasant, comfortable and provides a sense of satisfaction for your life. You don't
have to be old to enjoy it, but you know there is something you need to
do. As long as you have lived, you have acquired possessions,
property and other items of value. A nagging thought in the back of your
mind keeps asking you if there isn't more to do.
IMPORTANT QUESTIONS YOU NEED TO
ASK YOURSELF
What
happens if I am suddenly involved in a disaster or an
emergency situation?
What
If
my health starts to suffer, and I can't take care of
myself and my affairs?
Even
worse, suppose a stroke or heart attack causes others to have
to assume my personal affairs?
What
if I have an bad accident, a fire, or a tornado, who will help
me....and how will they know what to do?
What
will happen to all I have if I die suddenly without having
prepared for it?
If
something happens to me at any age, how do I want things
disposed of, given away or otherwise disposed of?
It
is a rare person who has all his or her affairs in order.
And
of those who do, it is rarer that they have thought of almost
everything they want to have prepared.
It takes a lot of time to get all your desires organized.
Our job is to see you can do just that!
Would your family be able to find
everything you want found, and would they carry out your wishes and
handle your desires as you would want them to be carried out?
If you
had to evacuate quickly, would you be able to reach down and pick up what
you needed most, and flee?
How could
any of us even possibly know what to bring?
It is the commitment of OurFactsOfLife.com that you will be able to know just what to
do.
OurFactsOfLife.com is
dedicated to researching all manner of information that can give a person a
feeling of having control over some of the not so good things in life before
they actually befall you.
The one attribute that saves us is
having the information you need to have at your fingertips so you can be
ready to handle a situation at a moment's notice.
You don't want to be caught
with a false sense of preparedness by being unprepared. When sparks start to fly, and you feel a wave of despair blowing on
your face, you want to face the onslaught with all the information you
need to get working on the problem rather than trying to get your hands
around the problem.
The picture above of a farm in New
Hampshire makes us think of the comfortable feeling we want you to have by
knowing where all the important information in your life actually can be
found. To enjoy life and live with such knowledge can make your life much
more secure. This should be your goal!
Some of us who have
compiled this site have the benefit of age,
and maybe even qualified wisdom because of the age. Over time, we have learned a great deal
from many who have experienced disasters and among them is you can't
remember everything. What do you want to forget?
It becomes even more complicated when
we remember we put something together, but where we put it becomes obscure.
Or worse, we forget we put it together at all.
None of us wants to leave our
children, brothers, sisters and other people important in our lives guessing
in despair It is so is easy, in leisure, to put facts down on paper so there
is no guesswork when they have to be acted on.
It doesn't matter how old, how young
or how middle-aged you are....everybody faces this head-on, sooner or later,
so the earlier in life you begin, the easier it is when the problems arise
for real.
From our own experiences,
we have
knowledge of what you must always keep your fingers on, yet remembering our
theoretically helpful mental notes at the time of crisis is an entirely different story.
It's bad enough to be missing the many details that we forgot to include in our records, further
complicating what we know we need to do.
We decided that while there are many
"help-yourself" books and material to get you by on any given
problem, the main goal for our drive is to assemble information in a
form that is usable for elders and younger folks, ..... and all in between.
When our time
is up, it is too late to put together all the details we want and need to
pass on, and we leave it to our children whom we may have told next to
nothing, to make some kind of sense out of it.
When we face
disaster, we ourselves have to fight our way out of it.
HOW DO WE DO THAT???
Our research has shown that less than
9% of people who pass on from this world to the next have adequately
compiled a useful log of all they want their family to know and do. If that
leaves you in the 91% category, you need to understand and acquire the type
of information and services you'll need. Hard to believe these facts,
but that's what people unwittingly do to themselves.
The problem doesn't always wait until
you pass on. Sometimes even folks who have dutifully assembled all the
information their heirs will need, put the pile in the desk and forget about
it. When disaster strikes the information pile will be destroyed and made useless unless it is properly stored
where it is protected against
fire, water and other destructive events.
Safes and information go
together to help you in the simplest but safest form, and the
nominal cost is far less than the hours of effort to do it yourself or
recover from not doing it. Such protection is extremely reasonable. When you
compare it to
what you would have to do to recover from the loss of documentation and
valuables, you can realize the benefits of a secure safe.
